Saud Siddiqui

Saud is a qualified accountant with over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry (both conventional and Islamic). Saud has a strong consulting and advisory background with indebt experience in mergers and acquisition, internal and external compliance audits, risk management reviews, IS system and infrastructure development and restructuring, vendor management to name a few. Saud started his career working for one of the big 4 accounting firms and subsequently with one of the world’s leading insurance company. Saud is also a qualified internal and IT auditor accredited by international professional bodies.

Saud specialises in Shari’a consulting and structuring engagements and has advised on the development of various Shari’a compliant products (corporate and retail), Islamic funds, Islamic Issuance platforms, REITs and various structured products.

Saud is a currently part of the working group set up by AAOIFI for the ‘Commodity Murabaha Governance Project’ and has also served on various committees as part of the conversion of GCC based conventional bank to an Islamic bank following the acquisition of the conventional bank by an Islamic banking group.

With relationships and access to world renowned Sharia scholars, Saud has developed his knowledge on Islamic Finance related matters and has actively been involved in preparing and delivering presentations, debates and discussion on Islamic Finance and Islamic Micro Finance.

Saud’s assurance and consulting experience, complemented by his Shari’a knowledge, provides him with a unique edge to offer practical and operationally effective solutions and advice on Shari’a structuring, audits and compliance.
